Cougar Cubs Under-13s braved the weather and made the trip to Newshome, Huddersfield for a tough grudge match.
Third placed Newshome were hoping to close the gap on second placed Cubs.
Newshome scored early in the game and put the Cubs under pressure. Keighley captain Matty Bailey replied with a try, converted by Chris Burgoyne to put the Cubs ahead.
Center Ethan Hawksworth added another try to increase the Cubs the lead to 10-4 at the break.
The second half saw Cubs tries from, center Ethan Hawksworth, forward Jake Waddington and fullback Jack Copperwaite.
In the closing minutes with the score 16-22 Newsome crossed the Cubs' line only to be deemed 'held up'. Cubs Stand off Will Garside aided by Jake Waddington made the try-saving tackle as the Cubs secured victory.
