Andy Cooke insisted City are right back in the play-off mix on the back of their derby double over Huddersfield.

The Bantams head into the final ten games of the season with renewed confidence after Saturday's 2-0 win - their first at Valley Parade since October.

Cooke scored the first goal and laid on the other for Dean Windass to maintain the incredible record against other Yorkshire clubs.

More importantly the win, watched by their largest home crowd, kept City in touch with the chasing pack behind the top six.

Cooke said: "It was make or break for us so it was such a big win. If we had lost, that would have left us with too much to do but we're still in with a shout.

"A few people were probably thinking 'here we go again' with it being another home game. But that's finished now and the local derby is the right time and place to end that run.

"No matter what club I've been at, I've always looked forward to playing at home and a great atmosphere like Saturday certainly helps.

"I've played in a lot of derbies through my career and knew there was a real emphasis on the game.

"Now we can build on Saturday and look for another solid performance at Peterborough next week."

Colin Todd, relieved to see City claim only their second win since New Year's Day, highlighted Cooke's contribution.

"It's obviously taken Andy time with the pace in England again but he has improved with each game.

"I'm very pleased he got a goal. He certainly deserved it with the way he retained the ball, brought others into play and combined well with Dean Windass."
