Bamber Bridge 1

Farsley Celtic 2

The Celts maintained their impressive away form with another win last night after completing a quick-fire double over Bamber Bridge to keep their hopes of promotion to the Conference North alive.

They won by a smaller margin this time but boss Lee Sinnott felt it was a better display, under difficult circumstances after being forced into three changes.

"There were just ten days between the games and lightning doesn't tend to strike twice in football," said the manager.

"Full credit to the players for being ready for it and putting in an excellent first 25 minutes. I think that went a long way to the eventual outcome."

The pace that the Celts set was hard for the home side to live with and it was no surprise when Sinnott's men opened the scoring midway through the first half.

Mark Bett played a through ball and Rodney Rowe applied the finish.

Recent signing Martin Pemberton enjoyed his full debut. He had a hand in the goal that doubled the Celts lead in the 53rd minute when he and Carl Serrant combined before Serrant crossed for James Knowles.

Peter Wright pulled a goal back for Bamber but the visitors dug deep to hold on to their lead.
