Keighley 2nd XV 23, York 2nd 10 - Keighley were caught napping by a York side tha t had used a little psychology by sending an early message that they had a weakened side and could only send thirteen players - in fact they turned up with a full side plus two substitutes.
The had strengthened with first team players and in the second minute their scrum half scored strolled through a gap in the Keighley defence.
Both teams then had to contend with a snow storm for about five minutes which caused a complete whiteout.
Michael Hebden put Keighley on the board with a well taken penalty kick and Chris Watts crossed for a try.
York's scrum half and stand off then started to control the game with some well placed kicks into the corners. Keighley defended well, and both sides were unable to breakdown each others defence.
Keighley's backs were soon on the attack in the secondperiod with Rob Wilkinson, Matt Gaffney and Warren Knowles opening up the York backs.
When the ball reached Watts he gave a quick pass to the supporting Hebden who used his strength to knock over the last defender to score in the corner.
Keighley's backs were now on top, and when the ball was moved back across the field a gap opened up for Warren Knowles to cross for Keighley's third try. Watts showed his pace and crossed for his second try.
York dug deep and their forwards, who had been second best in the lineouts and scrums, started to boss the loose play, and minutes before the end their left wingman slipped out of two tackles to score the final try.
This had been a good test for the Keighley side against a well drilled side, and they had shown that they could come from behind and overcome constant attacks.
