Albion Sports suffered a shock first league defeat of the season at the hands of bogey side Crown in the Premier Division.

Albion may have taken their eye off the ball ahead of their FA Sunday Cup semi-final this weekend but that shouldn't detract from a fine display from Crown, and in particular Kevin Larkin.

Larkin scored just before interval to cancel out Albion's 20th-minute opener and hit the target again after the break to give his side a 2-1 lead.

A post denied him a hat-trick before a late rally from Albion almost grabbed them a point.

The Fairweather Green/Whetley Lane derby proved a hard-fought affair with the champions gaining revenge for an earlier County Cup defeat.

Phil Licence opened the scoring for Whetley Lane from a corner after just two minutes but Fairweather were in front by the half-hour.

John Penn's header levelled in the 20th minute and an own goal following a lengthy run from Lee Summerscales gave Fairweather a 2-1 success.

Pudsey finished the stronger at Oakenshaw to win 2-1 after the home side had led through Andy Atkinson, while Wyke Wanderers, who lost 3-1 to Bolton Woods, slipped to tenth.

A shortage up front resulted in full back Gary Lillington taking up a forward role and he revelled in his new surroundings, hitting all five for Ring O Bells Shipley, who followed up their 7-1 win at Waggoners the previous Sunday by beating them 5-0 in the return Division One fixture.

With seven teams still not safe from the second relegation spot, Eastward were desperate to gain something from the visit of Westwood.

Leading inside the first minute thanks to a Mark Saunders penalty, Eastward came unstuck and, despite a second-half goal from Chris Spark, went down 3-2.

Playing only their third game in 14 weeks, Dudley Hill Rangers paid the penalty for a poor first-half display against Wibsey WMC.

Rangers were 2-0 down at half-time to goals from Brendan Donoghue and Wayne Dolby but hit back to level five minutes after the break thanks to a Jamie McEwan double.

However, a late breakaway goal from Dave Rushby consigned them to a 3-2 defeat.

Victoria Rangers are now the only unbeaten side in the Alliance League after scoring three second-half goals to beat Queensbury Reserves 4-0.

The victory closes them to one point behind Division 1A leaders Ventus Sports, who were in Supplementary Cup action, beating QCs 5-1.

Liam Brompton made a promising debut for promotion-chasing White Eagles in Division 1B and clinched his new side's win at bogey side Skylark with the last goal in a 3-1 success.

Fairweather Green Junction twice levelled against visitors Royal Clayton before falling away in the second half to go down 4-2.

Michael Ferguson's second goal from a great solo run and a late strike from substitute Ben Collier clinched it for Clayton.

Wibsey WMC Reserves edged nearer to safety with a 3-2 win at bottom club Dudley Hill Rangers reserves.

There was good news for the teams chasing runaway Division 2B leaders Eccleshill, who were held to a 0-0 draw by Bradford Park Avenue Rangers.

Despite being 2-0 down after 15 minutes, Ventus United hit back to beat Albion Sports Reserves 4-3, with Rick Worrell hitting a hat-trick.

Holmewood Athletic and Beldon Sports will meet in the final of the Amateur

Cup after both sides progressed from

tight semi-final clashes at Rawdon Meadows.

Relay Recruitment from Division 3B found Division 3A side Holmewood Athletic Reserves too strong on the day and a 1-0 victory earned the higher-ranked side a final spot at Eccleshill United.

The all-Division 3B clash saw Ricky Dufton put Beldon in front after 15 minuets only for Red Lion Crusaders to equalise 20 minutes later.

Ryan Lambert restored Beldon's lead only for Crusaders to peg them back once more.

Extra-time failed to separate the sides and Beldon successfully converted all five of their penalties to go through 5-3.
