Two Bradford College students are celebrating winning senior squad places with clubs.
Mike Fletcher, 18, has become a regular with Bradford Bulldogs, while 16-year-old Aaron Dad has done likewise with Hull's Kingston Jets.
Both Aaron and Mike, who are taking sports courses at the college, have worked their way through the junior ranks at their respective clubs.
Aaron, from Wrose, started playing ice hockey about seven years ago when a neighbour encouraged him to try the sport.
He was transferred from Bradford Bulldogs to the Kingston Jets last year, and played his first senior match at the tender age of 14, scoring a goal on his debut.
Aaron also represents Kingston's under-19 and under-17 teams, and at under-17 level has been selected to represent the Northern Conference in a tournament in the Czech Republic this month.
He will also attend the play-offs in May when the full England Under-17 squad will be selected.
Aaron said: "Playing for the seniors is a lot harder and faster. Some teams are tougher than others, but I enjoy it.
Clayton-based Mike has been playing ice hockey for only three years. He also represents Bradford at under-19 as well as senior level, where he made his debut last season against Flintshire.
Mike said: "I started playing ice hockey because my brother used to play, so I thought I would give it a go.
"I also play roller hockey as well. Sometimes it's a struggle to fit everything in when you play for lots of teams.
"We might have to travel to the other end of the county for one match and then get back to Bradford for another, but it's worth it."
Paul Laver, who is the tutor for both Mike and Aaron, said: "Both these students show great commitment to not only their training, but also their course.
"Hopefully they will go on to make a profession from doing something they love."
l Fellow Bradford College student Jianzhen Zhang has been picked to play for the English College's volleyball squad after trials in Derby.
The 18-year-old, who is taking A2 levels in business studies, ICT, maths and further maths at the Sixth Form Centre, played professionally in China for five years before coming to England.
Only 30 students made it through to the second phase in Derby, and 'Johnny', as he is known, was among 12 who made it all the way.
The Nanjing-raised international will now attend a training camp in France and represent England against Ireland, Scotland and Wales in a Colleges Tournament.
