Two of Bradford's leading hotels have been bought by new owners in mutli-million-pound deals.
The Hilton Hotel in Hall Ings has been sold to Stardon UK, a joint venture between Glasgow-based company Chardon Hotels and a fund sponsored by US investment firm Starwood Capital.
The £111 million deal is for a package of 11 hotels being sold-off by the Hilton group.
And it has also emerged that the four-star Hollins Hall Hotel in Baildon has been bought by the Marriott International group. It was put on the market by giant leisure group Whitbread earlier this week.
The Hilton deal will see Chardon Management, the operations arm of the Chardon Group, take over the running of the hotels which are located across England and Scotland.
The deal will mean the group has a total portfolio of 18 hotels with 2,166 bedrooms, making it one of the top 15 hotel companies in the UK.
Chardon Hotels is the private investment vehicle of Scottish entrepreneur Maurice Taylor.
He owns a group of other companies and developed and owns branded hotels including the Holiday Inn and the Express by Holiday Inn, both in Glasgow.
Mr Taylor has worked in the hospitality sector for more than 40 years and is a past chairman of the Best Western Hotels group.
Roland Clark, president of Bradford Chamber of Commerce, welcomed news of the deal.
He said: "One of the things that neither customers nor suppliers like is uncertainty, so this hopefully brings a bit more stability to all involved.
"On the face of it, this seems like good news. A change of ownership often brings new investment and these are certainly exciting times for the area around the hotel."
Hollins Hall manager Wayne Topley said it would be "business as usual" after the completion of the deal with Marriott International.
The new owners will officially take over the hotel, which employs 160 staff, on May 5.
The hotel and leisure club had previously been franchised out by Whitbread and operated under the Marriott brand. Whitbread announced earlier this week that it was to pull out of the four-star hotel market.
