FULL back Jonathan Davies makes his 200th league appearance for Wharfedale at Manchester this Saturday in what could be his last campaign as a player.

The landmark comes in the same season that Davies became only the third Greens player to reach 1,000 points in all games, but 'JD' has given a broad hint that he may hang up his boots in the summer.

The number 15, who is 33 this month and whose wife is expecting their second daughter, said: "I might retire at the end of the season. I have a young family and the body is getting battered. I'll see how I feel in the summer."

Apart from suffering a dislocated collar bone against Redruth, Davies has missed very few matches through injury since joining the club in 1996-97.

But he admits the aches and pains are taking their toll.

"I'm not the best of trainers and I'm notorious for being the first on the physio's couch and last off it."

If Davies does decide to call it a day, he can be proud of nine season's loyal service, which included him setting a modern day club record for the most number of league points scored in a season - this being 278 in during 2001-02.

The Gargrave resident also jointly holds the record for the most number of points scored during one game - 29 - along with Adam Mounsey. Twice Davies has reached this figure, at home to Nuneaton this season and against Preston Grasshoppers in 2001-02.
