Lady luck was on the side of the Afzal family as they scooped a bag full of prizes in the Telegraph & Argus Buy it in Bradford Lucky Numbers draw.
Shahid Afzal and his family, of Manningham, claimed the rollover jackpot after their Buy it in Bradford loyalty card number matched that printed in Friday evening's T&A.
They scooped a DVD player, a set-top box, a weekend trip to Bath, a wide-screen Panasonic television and a Stone Island jacket, together worth £3,250, as well as £450 in cash.
Every week since the campaign began, local retailers have been offering loyalty card holders a series of fantastic prizes. And, each Friday, a random loyalty card serial number is printed with the owner able to claim the prize. The first week's prize, a trip to Las Vegas, was claimed in February by Joyce and Colin Hill of Greengates.
Mr Afzal, a care worker for the WRVS in Bradford, said: "We've been checking the T&A every evening since the offer started and it was on Friday evening that we noticed that my number was in as the winner. I was just incredibly shocked. It is such a good surprise and my children are well chuffed. My son Bilal is the most pleased as he really wants a new mobile phone.
"The money will come in really handy and will probably go towards treats for the children. The television looks fantastic as well."
Mr Afzal, said he had high hopes for the Buy it in Bradford campaign.
"I think its a great idea for Bradford," he said.
"Once all the roadworks around the city have stopped, getting into town will be easier again and we will have a brand new shopping centre to enjoy.
"The plans that we have seen for Bradford so far look great, with the Broadway development in particular very impressive. It will be great to have some more parking spaces in the city again."
The TA&'s Buy it in Bradford campaign is a joint initiative with Bradford Council and Bradford Vision to encourage people to keep shopping in the city centre during its massive regeneration programme.
To encourage this, the T&A has
distributed nearly 200,000 Buy it
in Bradford loyalty cards across the
district. As well as the prize giveaways, the cards allow the holder to claim a series of fantastic discounts with hundreds of local retailers.
