Matthew Robinson riding for All Terrain Cycles achieved his highest finish of the road season so far in the Danum Trophy over 60 miles at Brampton, South Yorkshire, on Sunday.
He captured second place after 10 laps of the hard undulating course.
Alead group of six broke away at the start of the second lap and built up a lead of a minute over a chasing group. This lead was maintained until the start of the last lap when a chasing group of six riders bridged the gap. There were a number attacks by riders trying to escape, but each timethey were brought back by the group.
Matthew then attacked on one of the main climbs and one other rider managed to go with him.
In a sprint for the finish Matthew just lost out by a bike length to Stefan Wolfer riding for Team Bradgate.
