A Bradford newsagent says that thieves are making his life a misery after suffering his second burglary in under six months.
Until last November Mohammed Abassi, owner of Barkerend Road newsagency, had suffered just one break-in in nearly 20 years of being in business. But since then thieves have struck twice - most recently at the weekend.
Despite having an alarm system, window and door shutters, plus several heavy security doors, thieves still managed to break into his shop on Saturday.
"I just don't know what else to do," Mr Abbasi said, "they're making life hell for me."
The first break-in occurred in late November when thieves broke through the shutters and windows at the front of the shop.
However in the early hours of Saturday morning burglars dismantled the shop's alarm system before breaking through several heavy security doors.
Mr Abbasi said: "The first time, the alarm went off and they didn't manage to take too much stuff. But this last lot had plenty.
"They were obviously quite professional. To dismantle the alarm box and break through these very solid security doors will have taken a lot of time, effort and skill.
"We're still clearing up some of the mess now. We've got the front of the store cleared but the store rooms are still in an absolute mess."
As well as the stolen stock, Mr Abbasi is counting the cost of the damage done to his security doors and alarm box, all of which were damaged in Saturday's break in. Mr Abbasi also suffered a loss of trade on Saturday while he helped to clear up the mess.
"I usually open on a Saturday at about 7.30am but the mess was so bad that I had to wait until 2.30pm before I could open for trade," said Mr Abbasi.
"The disruption in trade was bad but my customers understood what had happened to me and were really supportive.
"I just really hope that this does not happen again."
A spokesman for Bradford Police said: "We can confirm we had a reports of two burglaries at the Barkerend newsagents in the past few months.
"Given that the mode of entry was different at each incident our officers do not believe the two burglaries to be linked.
"We would urge all businesses in the area to be on their guard and provide security arrangements."
