Some restrictions for senior and disabled permit holders using the local public transport system will be lifted from Sunday.
Concessionary fares will increase from 30-35p per journey. But restrictions, which mean Metro senior and disabled concessionary permit holders have to pay half fare between 3-6pm weekdays, are being dropped.
Metro -- the county transport body -- says the changes mean permit holders will be able to travel for up to 35p a journey any time after 9.30am.
Chairman Councillor Stanley King said: "Metro is committed to ensuring everyone has access to the public transport network and currently provides a concessionary fare for West Yorkshire which is very popular with local pensioners.
"I am confident that a 35p maximum fare offers permit holders real value for money and with the lifting of the afternoon time restrictions, that value is increased.
"Metro's concessionary fare is the lowest in the country and is available to more people since the qualification age for men was lowered to 60."
