Paul Tierney has "got everything going for him", according to Colin Todd.

City are expected to make a move to sign the on-loan left back, who is out of contract

at Manchester United in the summer.

The 22-year-old has been with the Bantams since Christmas but missed six games with a hamstring injury.

But his performances since coming back against Doncaster and Stockport have impressed Todd.

"Paul has acquitted himself very well," he said. "He's quick, athletic and strong on the ball - he's got everything there.

"Provided he continues to play to the standard then there will be an opportunity here for him.

"Paul's contract with United is up at the end of the season and we'll see what happens. But he has said to people that he thoroughly enjoys it here.

"It's been a stop-start period after getting the injury at Sheffield Wednesday. But he's come back with the bit between his teeth and will be pushing on for the rest of the season."

The departure of Wayne Jacobs will leave Lewis Emanuel as the only senior left back at the club.

Tierney's chances of being kept on by United are very slim - he has made only one Carling Cup appearance in four years - and a consistent run to the end of the season would strengthen his hand for a permanent deal at City.

Meanwhile, Tom Kearney has returned from a week at the National Sports Centre in Lilleshall, where he has continued his rehab work.

But Michael Symes has suffered another setback after picking up a groin injury in training. Todd said: "He went to see a specialist and is going to be out for a while."
