Bradford rugby league legend Trevor Foster died today at the age of 90.
The Welsh-born former Great Britain forward was hugely popular throughout the city and this week had helped launch his biography.
Mr Foster made the first of 462 appearances for Bradford Northern on October 29, 1939 against Hull at Odsal.
His performances for Northern saw him acknowledged as one of rugby league's all-time greats.
He was instrumental in the campaign in 1964 to save the club from extinction.
He was awarded an MBE for his services to the community and was a keen support of the Bulls.
See Monday's Telegraph & Argus for full tributes.
