The first images of three eye-catching proposals to redevelop Bradford's former Odeon Cinema are exclusively revealed in today's Telegraph & Argus.
The eagerly-awaited designs have been drafted by three leading development partnerships after a global competition was held to find ways of transforming the landmark site.
All three designs propose a range of uses with hotels, apartments, roof gardens and grand foyers just some of the ideas put forward.
Using part of the site now occupied by the former cinema as a gateway' or front-of-house' for Bradford College is another vision shared by two of the contenders, which have come up with plans to radically transform the area.
And the history of the building, which opened as the New Victoria Theatre in 1930, has been the inspiration for one of the plans which is called New Victoria Place, the others being the Bradford Pivot and Casa Mela.
Michael Ziff, chairman of Bradford Centre Regeneration which held the competition, said: "I'm delighted we have got the final three designs and that everybody can have a look at them."
They will be put on display for public inspection and comment from tomorrow until June 1 at the National Museum of Photography, Film and Television.
Maud Marshall, chief executive of Bradford Centre Regeneration, said: "We are delighted with the high quality plans put forward for the Odeon site. All three designs reflect the finalists' commitment to establishing a new landmark that people who live, work and learn in the city can be proud of."
