Bulls strength and conditioning coach Martin Clawson has committed his long-term future to the champions.

Long-serving backroom man Paul Medley has also signed a contract to start up a new junior development role as boss Steve McNamara begins cementing the basis of his coaching team.

Former Bulls chief Brian Noble had taken assistant Phil Veivers with him to Wigan leaving Bradford short-staffed and hoped to persuade Clawson to follow suit.

But the conditioner has remained loyal and now McNamara will step up his search for his own assistants.

Former Great Britain second row Medley, meanwhile, has been at the club since signing from Halifax in 1989.

He gained legendary status before retiring nine years later and has since fulfilled a number of roles at Odsal, including community development manager and his current title of player performance manager.

Medley, 39, has been running the Under-18s since McNamara's promotion last month and working with the first-team squad but he will eventually be in charge of the club's junior programme.

"I'm Bradford through and through so I'm delighted," he said. "I'm stepping into the breach wherever I can until we get someone else in and I'll do whatever Steve wants me to do for this club.

"But eventually he wants me to sort the junior development from the bottom end up.

"For everyone aged from 14 to 18 years old I'll be the go-to' person, someone who can look after them."

Meanwhile, a scan has confirmed hooker Terry Newton's knee injury isn't as bad as first feared and he could be fit for Saturday's trip to Harlequins.
