The injury-jinxed Bulls have some new casualties on their hands including Great Britain ace Terry Newton.
The champions could be without Brett Ferres for a few weeks after he damaged ankle ligaments at Hull on Friday and today it emerged influential hooker Newton may be joining him on the sidelines.
He has been suffering from pain in his knee following the 28-12 defeat at KC Stadium and was due to have the injury explored this afternoon.
Boss Steve McNamara now faces the prospect of being without up to SEVEN first-team regulars for the trip to Harlequins on Saturday.
Since taking over from Brian Noble, McNamara has suffered some terrible fortune, with injuries making his transition to head coach a difficult one.
He saw winger Lesley Vainikolo pull up on the morning of the Hull match, forcing another late switch of personnel with Brad Meyers, Chris McKenna, Matt Cook and Paul Deacon already missing.
Second-row Ferres came off early on but fears he had broken his ankle have been unfounded.
McNamara confirmed: "It isn't broken but there is ligament damage.
"We're waiting to see how it settles down now but it's not looking good in the short term at least. We'll know the full extent soon."
The 19-year-old becomes the fourth second-rower out of action at the club and Newton, one of McNamara's back-up options, is also struggling.
"Terry injured his knee on Friday night as well and he's having a precautionary scan," said the coach. "It's all been a bit of a test but we'll get through it!"
Newton has played just four games since returning from a six-month ban after his move from Wigan and any serious injury to him now would be a major blow for the club, who have lost two of the three games since McNamara took charge.
The coach is not panicking though or planning on making a move into the transfer market.
"We've got enough quality professionals and most of the injuries are position-specific the back row," he said.
"We've lost our main players there but we're okay and we'll be fine. There's more in the under-21s who deserve to get a look in."
Prop Matt James made an impressive debut at Hull, fellow 19-year- old Craig Kopczak is also available and highly-rated England Academy skipper Sam Burgess, 17, could be next in line for a Super League shot.
McNamara said: "Most of the injured players will be back in the next few weeks and we might have Vainikolo and Deacon for Quins."
