Tonight's schduled curtain-raiser to the Leeds Rhinos v Bradford Bulls clash has had to be moved.

Due to the heavy rain this week, the Trafalgar Cup clash between the Royal Marines and the Parachute Regiment will now take place at West Park Leeds RUFC at 4pm today and not at Headingley Carnegie.

The Trafalgar Cup sees two of the Britain’s elite fighting forces going head-to-head to raise cash for Help for Heroes and two military charities.

Although this Rugby League battle is now in its 10th year, the teams have only competed for the Trafalgar Cup on six previous occasions due to demands of Operations.

Last year’s game saw the willpower, determination and the ethos of two teams that just don’t know the meaning of ‘second-best’ with the eventual honours being shared for the first time in nine years.

Other acitivities taking place around the Headingley Carnegie Stadium to celebrate the efforts of our brave servicemen and women will still take place prior to the Rhinos' clash with Bradford.

These include military stands, vehicles, a military band and a freefall parachuting display by The Ravens (4th Battalion The Parachute Regiment freefall display team) at 7pm.

There will be an opportunity to purchase, at auction for charity, tandem freefall parachute jumps with The Ravens later in the summer.
