A young actress beat thousands of hopefuls to make the final 50 of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s televised search for a star for his revival of The Wizard of Oz.
Sophie Wysoczanski, from Calverley, appeared on Over the Rainbow on BBC1 at the weekend, when the programme showed girls from across the country auditioning.
Sophie, 23, was one of the hopefuls invited to ‘Dorothy Farm’ where the judges, Charlotte Church, Sheila Hancock and EastEnders actor John Partridge, decided on the final 20.
Sophie, a pupil at Stage 84 in Idle, was one of the unlucky contestants who, during a group performance, got a tap on the shoulder from Charlotte Church, which meant they were out of the talent show.
