More than 100 jobs - around five per cent of the workforce - are to be axed at Skipton-based financial outsourcing firm HML, a subsidiary of Skipton Building Society.
Roles will go from across HML's five offices in the UK and Ireland . A spokesman said a review would finalise which roles would go and from where.
Staff were briefed about the plans yesterday.
HML employs 2,000 people in total, including 840 in Skipton.
Pre-tax profit last year was £4m on turnover of £84m. The company manages £47billion of mortgage loans on behalf of 35 banks.
