Children learned about the art of making healthy packed lunches when a supermarket’s team visited their school.
Youngsters at Greengates Primary School, in Stockhill Road, Bradford, learned what sorts of food complemented each other to make up a lunch box, and had a taste afterwards.
They were helped by Helen Broadhurst, of Sainsbury’s Try Team, a national initiative set up to pass on culinary skills and inspire people to cook.
The team is made up of 12 community food and health advisors who work with schools and community groups in their local area.
Linda Guy, of Sainsbury’s, also a school community governor at Greengates Primary, said: “I think it is fantastic to have the team visit our school.
“As someone who has a busy working life, I am always in need of ideas for packed lunches.”
