Controversial comedy filmmaker Chris Morris was in Bradford last night as his latest movie premiered in the city.
He was joined by actors Asher Ali, Kayvan Novak and Riz Ahmed who play three Jihadis in Three Lions, a comedy farce about wannabe terrorists plotting to wage war on the world.
Hundreds of movie-goers packed into the sold-out performance of the comedy film’s premiere at the National Media Museum.
Riz, who plays Omar in Four Lions, said Bradford was chosen as the venue for its first screening as many of the characters researched by Mr Morris were also from Yorkshire.
He said: “We filmed it in Yorkshire and many of the characters are based on people who are from around this area, so it makes sense to bring it here first.”
