Indie trio Doves are returning to the district this spring as part of a UK tour of select smaller venues.
After their triumphant headlining show at Bingley Music Live last summer, the band will celebrate their ‘best of’ collection, The Places Between: The Best Of Doves, due to be released on April 5.
Fans can expect to hear Jimi, Jez and Andy’s choice of tracks from their 12-year career, from their huge hit There Goes The Fear to the Motown thump of Black And White Town, the krautrock-inspired Jetstream and the anthemic glow of The Cedar Room.
From acclaimed debut Lost Souls, the Mercury Music Prize-nominated The Last Broadcast, widescreen masterpiece Some Cities and, not least, last year’s critically-embraced gem Kingdom Of Rust, Doves are said to have the most extraordinary, compelling live sets of any touring British band today.
Doves will be at St George’s Hall on Sunday, May 9. Tickets are now on sale, on (01274) 432000.
