An international puppet theatre will be the main attraction at a sell-out charity show.

Artists from West Yorkshire-based Thingumajig Theatre are giving their services free to raise funds for a new building at Wrose Methodist Church, Shipley.

One of Thingumajig Theatre’s founders is Bradford-born performer Karen Bradley, whose father Richard Bradley attends the church.

Karen and her husband and fellow theatre director Andrew Kim are performing in the show as a thank-you for help given by church members to her late mother, Pat, who died two years ago.

Following their performance at Wrose on Saturday, the Thingumajig performers will be jetting off to the United States.

The Hebden Bridge-based theatre company uses a range of life-size and traditional puppets, masks and music to tell stories at indoor and outdoor events in the UK and internationally.

Peter Murphy, producer of Showtime Spectacular, said: “It’s great that Karen and Andrew have found time in their busy schedule to take part in a local charity show. We are very grateful to them for giving their time to help us raise funds and I’m sure their performance will be something special.”

Proceeds from the show will be shared between the church’s building fund and the Children of Romania charity which helps orphans there.
