Police have confirmed bones found in a secluded street in Bradford city centre were those of an animal.

The bones were taken away for further forensic examination after they were discovered in Grattan Road, Bradford, on Friday.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman had said the bones appeared to have been there for some time.

Police cordoned off Back Roundhill Place, near Westgate, to allow an investigation to take place on Friday afternoon.

A doctor was called to the scene to examine the bones, but was unable to establish who or what they were from.
