Scientific students designed and built hovercraft at a Bradford school to celebrate National Science and Engineering Week.
The Year Ten pupils at Grange Technology College, in Haycliffe Lane, Great Horton, used their technological and maths skills to produce the unique vehicles which were later competed in races.
The overall winning team was G-Force, with special mention of Carla Walker-Smith, for her work on the design, and hovercraft driver Hasan Patel. The competition was judged by Joanne Crowther, of the engineering design and technology unit at the University of Bradford, which organised the event.
Headteacher Paul Burluraux said: “This is a fabulous opportunity for our students to experience the creative use of technologies and achieve excellent results through team work, intelligence and hard work.”
