Little Amelia Fearnside was so moved by the plight of young earthquake victims in Haiti that she put pen to a very big piece of paper.
The seven-year-old, who goes to Sandy Lane Primary School, wrote two sides of A4 asking businesses to help her raise money.
And her words touched managers and bosses so much that lots of them replied offering tickets, vouchers and gifts.
Among donations that will be auctioned off are cinema tickets, pizzas, meals out and family passes to St Leonard’s Farm at Esholt and at Diggerland near Castleford.
Amelia’s mum Lisa said: “When Amelia’s school raised £500 for Haiti she told me it was good the children would be alright now – but when I explained they would need more, she said she wanted to help and we came up with the idea of a sale.”
Amelia also sent letters to friends and teachers asking for donations for the sale, which is at Bethel Baptist Church, Haworth Road, Sandy Lane, from 10am today.
