More than 70 young performers gathered at Bradford’s Alhambra Studio for the Urban Fusion Charity Dance Competition last week.
Emmerdale actor Chris Chittel was at the event – organised by the Joint Activities Service, Bradford Tomorrow Project and Bradford Youth Development Partnership – to present trophies to youngsters. Organiser Abi Uttley says the venue was “brimming with cheers and applause.”
“We had 78 dancers, 250 spectators and we presented a cheque of £2,545.20 to the charity When You Wish Upon A Star. The Deputy Lord Mayor of Bradford said she was proud, and that rather than it being like a competition, it was more like a celebration of Bradford talent.”
The beginners’ category was won by Mix Dup of Keighley, and the best solo beginner was Jonathon Marquand of Shipley.
The advanced group winner title was won by Queensbury’s AKA, while Hannah Harrison of East Bowling won the title of advanced soloist.
