The father of a 15-year-old boy who suffered serious injuries after being stabbed says his son is on the way to recovery.

Abdullah Chunara suffered seven stab wounds, a punctured lung and a fractured skull in a late-night attack in the Manningham Lane area of Bradford, as reported in Friday’s Telegraph & Argus.

His dad, Mohammed, 46, said his son was on the way to recovery and now “out of danger.”

Mr Chunara, of Clifton Villas, Manningham, said: “He is stable. They were happy when they examined him in theatre because the wounds are all superficial.

“Hopefully he should be discharged soon.”

However, Mr Chunara said Abdullah was still traumatised and insisted a relative stay by his hospital bedside at all times while he recovered.

“He seems to be very clingy and I am going to have to stay with him,” Mr Chunara said.

“But apart from that, he is now getting back to his jolly self.”

Mr Chunara said he believed a key witness to the stabbing had now been found and was co-operating with police.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested shortly after the attack on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
