A community choir is inviting singers of all ages and types to join in a ‘Reet Grand Sing’ in Ilkley on Yorkshire Day.
Moornotes, a choir based in Ilkley, says it wants to help create a positive atmosphere in the town on Sunday, August 1, traditionally the first day of Ilkley Summer Festival, as well as the region’s own celebration.
The programme of songs has yet to be confirmed, although On Ilkla Moor Baht ’At is likely to be performed on Yorkshire Day.
Moornotes’ musical director Dave Robinson said: “We want every singer in the area to come and help us celebrate the day in song.”
Further information about the Reet Grand Sing can be found at moornotes.org.uk.
Singing groups and individuals are invited to register their interest in taking part via the website or by contacting Mr Robinson on (01274) 770909.
