A Guiseley councillor has enabled funding for the development of a new disabled access footpath at Greenbottom Park in Guiseley.
Councillor John Bale has dedicated nearly £5,000 from Council funds to help improve access to the park.
The funding will pay for the removal of the existing footpath, which consists of concrete flagstones sunk into the ground and is unsuitable for disabled access. The new footpath will follow the same route but will have a timber edging, be back filled with stone and finished with a bitumen top coat.
Councillor John Bale said: “It is very important that everyone has the opportunity to gain easy access to greenspaces across the city. I am very pleased to have been able to provide funding for a new footpath for this popular park in Guiseley and I am sure that members of the public will take full advantage of this walkway once it is completed.”
