The performance of a Bradford primary school has improved since it was last inspected three years ago.
St Matthew’s Catholic Primary School, Allerton, is now considered to be a good school, according to education watchdog Ofsted. The school in Saffron Drive has an above average proportion of pupils who are eligible for free school meals, which is considered a key indicator of social disadvantage.
A team of inspectors visited the school at the end of last month.
Reporting inspector Kevin Johnson praised the influence of head teacher Katy Cox. In his report he wrote: “The impact of the head teacher’s leadership over the past two years, and the dedicated work of governors and staff, has been enormous.
‘‘Consequently, this has moved from a satisfactory to a good school. There have been significant improvements in key areas of the school’s performance.”
