A murder investigation has started after 19-year-old man suffered fatal stab wounds in a street attack in Bradford shortly after midnight today.
Police found the man in Gladstone Street, Bradford Moor, at 12.39am following reports of an assault. He was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary where he died.
Detective Superintendent Steve Payne, who is leading the investigation, said: "This was a targeted attack on the 19-year-old man.
"At this stage of the investigation we believe he was attacked by a group of males who arrived at the scene in a vehicle. Forensic work is ongoing at the scene.
"I am appealing to any witnesses who saw the incident to come forward. It is clear that this was not a random attack and we are now trying to establish the full circumstances that led to the death of this man.
"Detectives will be continuing to carry out house-to-house inquiries and Neighbourhood Policing Officers will be speaking to local people to offer reassurance."
Anyone who witnessed the attack or has any information about those responsible should contact the force's Homicide and Major Enquiry Team on 0845 60 60 60 606 or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
