An event is being held this weekend to mark the completion of a new wildlife wetland at Oakwell Hall country park in Birstall.
The Mayor of Kirklees, Julie Stewart-Turner, will be officially opening the new viewing platform which was built as part of the Wild About Water project.
The project involved digging out four ponds which will become a new habitat for creatures, birds and plants. There is also a dipping platform as well as the viewing platform.
The project was a partnership between the volunteer group BTCV, which got £50,000 of Biffaward funding, and the country park.
The celebrations take place on Sunday from 2pm.
