Two Keighley organisations are among 40 groups in Yorkshire and Humberside to have won a laptop and a year’s free broadband internet connection.
Keighley Healthy Living Network and Brackenbank and District Community Association were selected by BT Community Connections.
Nicholas Guite, chairman of the Yorkshire and Humberside judging panel, said: “It is great to know these awards will open doors to a whole new digital world for community and voluntary organisations.
“Internet access offers an exciting variety of opportunities including helping people to look for work, giving them greater independence and freedom and making it easier for them to stay in touch with friends and family.”
He said that competition for the awards was fierce, with more than 2,300 groups from around the country applying.
