Big hitters in the district’s property sector have been asked to give their opinions on the City Park and Business Forest projects in Bradford city centre.

More than 100 members of Bradford Property Forum have been asked to complete a 20-question survey as part of an evaluation of the merits and potential impact of the schemes. The survey asks respondents if they support the plans and if they would consider taking commercial premises in the Business Forest.

It goes on to seek opinions on the potential overall impact of the City Park and Business Forest projects and the extent to which their delivery will impact on the decisions of businesses and developers who are thinking of investing in Bradford.

The survey also asks if the start of work on site at City Park is already having an impact on the views of investors regarding Bradford.

Andrew Mason, chairman of Bradford Property Forum, said: “The purpose of the survey is to find out about people’s perceptions of the park, then to dissect those opinions and use them in a positive way. ”

The property forum believes interventions will only be successful if they help to grow the existing business base, lead to new employment opportunities, deliver social equality and attract new investors and skilled people to the city.

In order to support future investments, the forum is keen to assess the impact of such projects and gain business views to help guide the use of future funding within Bradford.

Mr Mason said his own view was that public realm works were vital in transforming cities.

The feedback from the survey will form part of the work being undertaken by consultants Ekosgen, which is being funded by Yorkshire Forward.
