A Baildon man, affected by a neurological condition that affects balance, speech and co-ordination, is undertaking a tandem skydive to raise funds for a national charity.
John – better known as Tommy – Willox, 53, hopes to raise £1,000 for Ataxia UK, which provides services and support for Ataxia sufferers.
Ataxia gets worse with time, until people become entirely dependent on others. More than 10,000 people in the UK have ataxia, which has no cure.
The skydive takes place on April 3, at Cockerham, Lancashire. It will Mr Willox’s second skydive.
Mr Willox said: “I’m lucky, I’ve only had my condition for seven years, some have had it since birth. Any donations will be greatly appreciated and will go towards finding a cure or even some treatment.”
