Runners have only three days left to sign up for the Bradford Epilepsy Action 10k road race.

The run, on Sunday, March 21, at 9am, has been voted one of the top five most personal-best friendly races in the UK by Runner’s World magazine readers. All those taking part will start and finish the race at Centenary Square. The route for the race is mostly flat and will be closed to all traffic.

Almost 1,000 runners have signed up so far and organisers say many more applications are expected in the last few days before Sunday’s deadline.

The time to beat was set by Willy Smith, of Brow Top Road, Haworth, who broke the course record last year which he set himself when he won the previous year’s race, with a time of 31 minutes and 26 seconds.

His girlfriend, Helen Glover, won the race for the girls last year in 37-46.

Katie Stocks, fundraising officer at Epilepsy Action, a Yeadon-based national charity, said: “Once again we’re overwhelmed with the support for this event from people in Bradford.

“We’re encouraging anyone who is keen to secure a place to log on to our website and sign up before the deadline on Sunday, March 14.

“If running isn’t for you, there are plenty of other ways to get involved and help out on the day including marshalling.”

Entry costs £16, or £14 for runners affiliated to a UK athletics running club. To sign up, fill out the form on this page, visit the Epilepsy Action website at epilepsy.org.uk or call (0113) 2108800.
