A 16-year-old student raped a 15-year-old girl at a New Year party, Bradford Crown Court heard today.
The teenager, now 17, denies raping the girl and sexually assaulting her.
Prosecutor Kama Melly told the court the youth, who cannot be named because of his age, locked the girl in the bathroom at the Bradford house where the party was being held on December 31, 2008.
The girl told police she had consumed alcohol but was not drunk. She said she froze during the sexual assault and then ran from the bathroom in tears.
Miss Melly said the girl, now 16, told her parents what had happened a week later. The allegation was reported to the police in March last year.
The youth told officers the sex was consensual. He said he and the girl hugged and kissed in the bathroom first. She then said: “I don’t know you,” and ran out of the room crying.
The trial continues.
