Pupils from Thornbury Primary School brightened up their week with a ‘yellow day’ to raise funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care in Bradford.
The children also baked buns and made fridge magnets which were sold at a parents evening to raise £1,130 – the most the school has ever raised for charity.
Marie Curie community fundraising manager Brenda Doyle said: “It shows how some of the most simple ideas can be the most effective and was a well-timed event just at the start of our Great Daffodil Appeal.”
Schools wanting to fund-raise should call Brenda on (01274) 337034 or e-mail brenda.doyle@mariecurie.org.uk
