Children and mums will be enjoying a special puppet show to celebrate Mother’s Day.

Bradford Council parental involvement worker Sally Wilkinson has organised the performance at Thornton Primary School to promote language and speech development through play.

The Freehand Puppet Theatre will present Who’s Been Sitting in My Chair? at the school next Tuesday.

Mothers, female carers and children are invited and every child will receive a free finger puppet.

Councillor Michael Kelly, the Council’s executive member for services to children and young people, said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for mums, carers and children to come together to enjoy a puppet show while also celebrating Mother’s Day.

“It will help give adults some tips to help them develop children’s communications skills through a fun activity. This is one of the key messages of the district’s B-Someone campaign which is all about encouraging children and young people to fulfil their potential and achieve.”
