An inner-city Bradford nursery has received a second successive outstanding verdict from inspectors.
Ofsted inspectors showered praise on the work of staff at Midland Road Nursery School in Manningham, in its latest report.
Seven different languages are spoken by children at home and about one third of the children are at an early stage of learning English. But all aspects of the nursery school’s provision are of “exceptional quality”, inspectors report.
Inspector Sarah Drake states: “Children’s well-being and happiness are at the very core of this outstanding school and children’s centre where those of different ages, abilities and ethnicity make excellent progress in all areas of learning.”
Head teacher Jo Dix said: “I’m delighted with the outcome of the report because it reflects the dedication and commitment of all staff over the last few years and shows their hard work in making sure that ‘Every Child Matters’ is a reality.
“It’s our second outstanding Ofsted and it is particularly rewarding for myself as head teacher because I’m retiring at the end of the spring term.
“In the words of the inspector, the school is ‘brilliant’ and I will be very sad to leave.”
