The official opening of the new Addingham Children’s Playground will take place in March.
Addingham Civic Society, which carried out its own fundraising and secured a large grant to build the £60,000 playground, has invited the village’s Gala Queen, Nell Carter, to formally open the playground on Saturday, March 20.
The civic society is also planning a morning of fun and celebrations at the Memorial Hall, to coincide with the opening.
The playground is already open for use and is said to be a hit with Addingham children. The society set out to build a new playground after old play equipment had to be scrapped.
The celebrations will begin at 10am, with refreshments in the Memorial Hall, plus stalls and activities for children. There will also be an Easter bonnet parade and a decorated egg competition.
