A 64-year-old man is in a stable but serious condition after a car crash in Yeadon early today.
The man, who was a passenger, and the 43-year-old male driver of the car in which he was travelling, suffered multiple injuries in the two-car collision in Bayton Lane, near Leeds-Bradford Airport, just before 6am.
Police said icy conditions had been a factor in the crash.
A white Mercedes C230 and a blue Vauxhall Zafira were both believed to have been travelling in the direction of Horsforth when they were in collision.
Firefighters from Rawdon, police and paramedics attended the scene.
Firefighters removed the roof of the Mercedes to free the men.
Both casualties were taken to Leeds General Infirmary, said police. The Mercedes driver's injuries were not thought to be serious.
The driver of the Vauxhall had managed to free himself.
The road remained closed until 10.40am.
