Heart-throb Peter Andre thinks she’s awesome, but what will Gordon Brown make of our Ivy?

The 104-year-old, whose massive Twitter fanbase already includes radio presenter Chris Evans and reality TV star Calum Best, has been invited by Mr Brown to 10 Downing Street.

Ivy is on a VIP guestlist for a special reception in March celebrating the UK’s ageing society.

The great-grandmother wasted no time after opening her post, to tell her news on social networking website Twitter.

It will be the first time that Ivy, who is also known as Facebook’s oldest member and has more than 48,000 ‘followers’ on Twitter, has ever been to London.

True to character, she is unflappable about the trip and her face-to-face encounter with the PM.

“I won’t know what he’s like until I meet him,” she said. “He’s not as good-looking as Peter Andre!”

Ivy, who was born and brought up in Thornton and spent most of her working life as a housekeeper for wealthy business people, says she will not be fazed by Mr Brown.

“I’ll see how I feel about asking him any questions on the day,” she said. “If I was going to ask anything, I’d ask for a bigger pension.”

March will be a big month for Ivy who is also hoping to be in the audience at St George’s Hall when Peter Andre – whom she met last year – plays a concert there.

Pat Wright, manager at Hillside Manor where Ivy lives, said: “I think she’s more excited about the prospect of seeing Peter again.”
