Alex Morrison e-mails: My wife Elizabeth McMichael and I are writing a book about her uncle, Royal Canadian Air Force bomber pilot Gerald Conroy who served with 429 Squadron in Yorkshire during the years 1942 to 1944.

He was shot down and killed over Germany on 24 March 44.

On 29 January 43, 429 Squadron was adopted by Bradford in a ceremony presided over by the Lord Mayor.

Among those in attendance was Roderick Sheriff, young son of Flight-Lieutenant T G Sheriff and his wife Mary Millar of Horton Bank Top.

We would very much like to hear from folks who knew of the relationship with the Canadian Air Force and who might have welcomed Canadians to their homes.

Also information about Roderick Sheriff would be especially valuable.
