Lister Primary School’s project to create a community adventure playground has been boosted by a £20,000 grant from the Ward Investment Fund.
This latest funding – from the money generated by Bradford Council’s involvement in the sale of Leeds Bradford Airport – allows the Manningham school to fully realise its vision for the project which recently won £50,000 from a TV contest. Bradford viewers helped secure the money in the People’s Millions phone vote.
A barren site next to the school, near Lister’s Mill, is being redeveloped with the money.
Feasibility work has started and the project is due to be completed by the end of March.
Headteacher Moira Hunt said: “We are developing the whole of our outside play using this funding to provide a quieter area in one section as well as a more active section to improve pupils’ play experience.”
