New Seeker Lyn Paul takes on the role of beleaguered Mrs Johnson in much-loved musical Blood Brothers, which is coming to Bradford next month.
Lyn (pictured) is one of the original members of the New Seekers, who recently celebrated their 40th anniversary and reformed last year to release their Greatest Hits album, Its Been Too Long.
The band topped the charts in the 1970s, winning countless awards and gold albums. Their single I’d Like To Teach The World To Sing reached No 1, they performed at the White House for President Nixon’s inauguration and came second in the Eurovision Song Contest.
Lyn first joined the West End production of Blood Brothers in 1997, starring as Liverpool housewife Mrs Johnson for three years. She has also played the role on tour.
Willy Russell’s epic tale, a hit on both sides of the Atlantic, is the moving story of twin boys separated at birth, only to be re-united by a twist of fate and a mother’s haunting secret. The memorable score includes A Bright New Day, Marilyn Monroe and emotional showstopper Tell Me It’s Not True.
- Blood Brothers runs at the Alhambra from March 15 - 20. For tickets ring (01274) 432000.
