An 84-year-old woman had be taken to hospital after two men pushed past her when she discovered them in her home in the early hours, police say.
The woman was woken by noises at about 4.25am and went into her living room to see two men who had been searching through the property.
They pushed past her and escaped through the front door of the flat in Avering Cliff, in Thorpe Edge, Bradford.
Police said the woman was unhurt in the incident, which happened on Tuesday, but was left shocked and was taken to hospital as a precaution. She was later discharged.
Airedale and North Bradford CID have appealed for witnesses to the incident.
The two suspects were white men dressed in dark clothing.
Police do not believe anything was taken in the incident.
Detective Inspector John Mountain, of Airedale and North Bradford CID, said: "The victim in this case was left very shaken as a result of what must have been a very upsetting experience for her. We are anxious to trace the men responsible."
Anyone who has information, or saw men acting suspiciously outside the address, should contact Airedale and North Bradford CID on 0845 6060606 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
