Sam Kelly’s Station House is bringing its fusion of blues, British funk, blues, soul, jazz, calypso and reggae to Keighley Blues Club.
The result is a mix of music which is far different to the norm, but with its roots based firmly in the blues.
The band formed in 2007 as the house band for the Soul Britannia All Stars Review at the Barbican, playing with Madeleine Bell, Linda Lewis and Hamish Stuart, with the performance being broadcast by the BBC as part of its Soul Britannia season.
Sam (pictured), whose self-taught style of drumming has placed him in the drumseat with Chaka Khan, Eddie Floyd, Robert Plant and Gary Moore, is the musical director for Soul Britannia. The rhythm section is completed by vocalist and bassist Spy, Paul Jobson on keyboards and Tony Qunta on guitar. The line-up is completed by Jerome Marcus.
Also on the bill is guitarist/vocalist Maz Mitrenko, who performs in America regularly and last year toured with Doug Jones on The Brothers Of The Highway Tour.
